Ole Pointy Beard Pete

I was commissioned to paint this for a lucky gentlemen's birthday present.

Buy a print of this here.

An Ode to Ole Pointy Beard Pete

Ole Pointy Beard Pete loves his single fin stick
It goes super fast and rides real slick

He always runs swiftly towards the ocean
As if he is strengthened by some magical potion

His beard trails behind like a bushy tail
And sometimes he uses it as a sail

He’s a surf hunter adventure man
He’s surfed in Alaska and even Iran

He once rode a wave onto the back of a whale
Then the whale got angry and flicked it’s tail

That was the best darn ride Ole Pete ever had
And when he remembers that day it always makes him glad

Mousetrap Board Riders Surf Club Logo

© Mulga 2012, Mousetrap Board Riders Surf Club Logo, Ink on Food Dyed Paper, 30 x 40 cm

My good friend Stuart McKerihan suggested I  draw the logo for the legendary Mousetrap Board Riders Club. I finally completed it. Do you like it Stuart?

An Ode to the Mousetrap Boardriders

They're rats on traps

Hairy little beasts
Doing carves and snaps
It looks funny from the beach

Upon rat traps
They surf like pros
A couple of them
Like to surf on the nose

An agent of death
They've used for their means
A death trap transformed
Happy as mung beans

Their club house is located
In the sewer at Cronulla point
A dingy dungeon of a place
But they're home in that joint

When the tide is low
And they hear the sea roar
They scurry from their lair
And tubes they score

They got no rules
It's every rat for himself
It's drop in central
On that rock shelf

The End

See you next time

Ratus Got a New Board

© Mulga 2012, Ratus Got a New Board, Watercolour and Ink on Paper, 20 x 30.5 cm

An Ode to Ratus

Ratus is stoked
He got a new board
It's a speedy fish
And shan't be ignored

His stance is funny
And he has one eye
He got knifed
By some very angry guy

Then Ratus got mad
So he used his tail
To choke the guy
Like a big white whale

Oh the horror
Oh the pain
To have lost thee eye
So totally in vain

He keeps the wound covered
Like a tent in the rain
But every night
Ole Ratus feels the pain

It pulses and pounds
Inside is his brain
Keeps him awake
Till he turns insane

His surfboard is now new
And now he surfs everyday
Still with one eye
But with a feeling of gay

The End

See you next Time

Here's a poem about Surf Ratus

An Ode to Surf Ratus

He is a rat
He is yellow
His tail is purple
He eats raspberry jello

He surfs the sewers
Among the turds
Kinda like Nulla
But without the birds

He reached great heights
In the surf sewer arena
But he never did beat
Sneaky Ratty Slater

The picture you see
Is before his last heat
Located beneath
Jabba the Hutts toilet seat

The log was so large
It set off a wave
The likes of which
Sent this rat to his grave

The wave in question
Could give him the score
To show Ratty Slater
The proverbial door

So he turned and burned
And dug his claws in deep
Gathered the speed
To conquer the beast

He made the drop
And pulled under the lip
Only to see
Jabba's log do a flip

It flipped in the air
Like a thrown cat
Came down on his head
And squashed him flat

He died that day
In Jabba's log entombed
Never did beat Slater
And forever perfumed

The End

See you next time.

Creepy Carrot Surf Gang

© Mulga 2012, Creepy Carrot Surf Gang, Ink on Paper,9 x 14 cm

An Ode To The Creepy Carrot Surf Gang

When the fruit shop shuts
After the last order
These carrots go nuts
They hit the water

One carrot is a board
The other surfs on top
They surf as a hoard
When the fall they flop

The rival gang
To the Black Banana crew
They learnt new slang
They shun the stew

Any banana they see
They draw their blades
They slash with glee
They lob grenades

When they make a kill
These carrots get creepy
It makes me ill
It gets kinda freaky

They peel their foe
They eat their innards
They grow a mo
And act like lizards

With the skin
They make a cape
It makes them grin
Makes them a convex shape

This story is weird
But i must contend
Just as I feared
It's come to an end

See you next time.

Winter Surfer Zombie

© Mulga 2012, Winter Surfer Zombie, Ink and texta on Paper, 21 x 30 cm

This is the winter surfer zombie.

A Poem About the Winter Surfer Zombie

He likes his hood
When the waters cold
It goes really good
It makes him bold

He surfs the Antarctic
On his single fin
With the penguins and seals
He likes the waves big

He lost his fingers
And all his toes
From a real long session
He even lost his nose

He'd do it again
It was that good
It's etched in his memory
Under his hood

See you next time.

The One Armed Sushi Chef otherwise known as the Beard Man Wearing Headband with Anchor on it

The One Armed Sushi Chef

He has a beard
And a headband too
His anchor is geared
For wowing you

He's a sushi chef
Of the highest order
His name is Jeff
He abhors disorder

He's the fastest slicer
In the land
He doesn't use a ricer
He has one hand

He's an Iron Chef
On that SBS cooking show
He killed the ref
With one blow

The decision was wrong
Or so he thought
And because he didn't win
He killed the lot

You'll find him now
In his little sushi shop
Forget to pay the bill
And you'll get the chop

See you next time

El Capitan rides the waves again

This is a drawing I completed for El Capitan surfing boards. They will prepare for you the most magical surfing board you can imagine.

This is a poem I completed just because...

El Capitan
He is an old sea dog and he surfs a log
He smokes a pipe and doesn't own a dog
On the high seas of life he stays outta strife
Except when he hunts for treasure and fights with a knife
A life long sailor like this here man
Prefers the raging ocean waters over any dry land
He's been here and there and seen this and that
He'll stare you down while he wears his hat
He's the El Capitano and he sings soprano
He likes the rum and he's got bravado

The end

See you next time - Mulga

Sun Face on My Surfboard

I drew a sun face on my surfboard with a black posca.
He appears to be whistling or saying 'oooh'.
Some facts about the sun:
The sun is now a middle-aged star, meaning it is at about the middle of its life.
The sun is 109 times wider then the earth and 333,000 times heavier.
The sun rotates every 25-36 days.
The sun is the ultimate source of fuel.
We would be so dead without the sun.
See you next time

p.s. I'm selling this surfboard. It's in pretty good condition. The dimensions are 6'5 x 19 1/4 x 2 1/2.
It comes with future fins and a tailpad and the artwork is included. Drop me a line if your interested.
